The Queen Anna Maria, a vessel with a remarkable history, first set sail in 1955 as the WEB Olympia, carrying migrants and tourists between Greece and New York. In 1965, she underwent a transformation, becoming the Queen Anna Maria after being christened by the second monarch to do so. However, fate took a tragic turn in 1963 when the Greek Lines cruise ship TSMS Lakonia caught fire and sank, claiming the lives of 128 people.

A New Lease on Life

Despite the tragedy, the Queen Anna Maria's journey continued. She was renamed the Topaz and remains in service today, offering interactive treasure hunts and thrilling boat tours for families on Anna Maria Island. Her long and eventful history serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of maritime travel and the resilience of those who navigate its waters.
